General Description of Duties
This position will perform intermediate accounting functions and clerical support in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for the preparation of month-end journal entries of intercompany entries, inventory account adjustments, and prepaid expense amortizations. The Staff Accountant will analyze and maintain the general ledger accounts; prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations. Will also be responsible for invoice processing of shipped orders. All work is to be completed while maintaining the highest level of confidence regarding the company’s financial information.
This individual must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in ways that foster good relationships with those inside and outside the company.
Essential Job Functions
- Process and print customer AR invoices on a daily basis, including scanning and indexing necessary data in Doclink.
- Assist in the month-end process by preparing journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Prepare journal entries for all intercompany charges due to/from Monster corporate office and AFFI.
- Submit the intercompany schedule and reconcile balances with Monster and AFFI.
- Prepare inventory adjustments and accrual entries.
- Reconcile the inventory accounts and cost of goods sold.
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and submit the quarterly and year-end balance sheet account reconciliations to parent company in accordance with set deadlines.
- Review for completeness of audit documents, i.e. Sales Journals; Check Preview reports.
- Able to step-in willingly to perform other duties in the absence of other co-workers.
- Assist with department workload and contribute to the overall smooth running of the Accounting Department.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5+ years of increasing responsibility in a similar environment.
- Experience with large accounting software (SAP preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (i.e. VLOOKUP and Pivot Table knowledge preferred).
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
- Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and writing).
